links and beta request
So as you may have noticed, I've been having a bit of a tough few months. Yesterday this video cheered me up a ridiculous amount. Two old ladies flying on a plane for the first time.

Another cheering thing has been the discussions at the riversoflondon comm, which has suddenly sprung into life and is full of people chatting about the books and fandom, so do come on over if you're interested.

And I promise there will be more fic in the not-too-distant future, both Vorkosigan and Rivers of London :-). I am still writing slowly and steadily. Well, actually I'm writing in random rabbit-hops, lots of little ones with long pauses and then a giant leap now and then. Yesterday evening, against all probability, was a giant leap, and to that end, if there's anyone out there who'd like to beta a more-or-less-complete version of the long-promised Aral/Duv fic, please let me know. It's 17,000 words and not all that slashy as these things go, and I need help beating it into shape.

I'm so looking forward to the Aral/Duv fic! I wish I could offer to beta, but right now I'm just barely staying on top of the things I need to do ... :(

I'm enjoying Rivers of London! It took a few weeks for my library to come through with #2, and then after I got it I was too swamped at work to read it (naturally), but on my flight home from New York yesterday I read most of it -- just a little bit left to enjoy tonight. At least I've got #3 already, which I'll probably save for my Easter holiday weekend at the beach.

That video was adorable! I loved little Ria, going on the roller coaster, and just so full of joy about life. I should try to be a little more like that.

Very happy to know you have fic brewing. :)

I'm glad you're enjoying it! I love it when I rec books to people and they like them :-)

And the rollercoaster bit was so lovely. I like finding models of what I want to be like when I'm old.

Looks like you have various beta offers already, but would be glad to help out any time extra hands/eyes are needed. Sending you a large hug for getting through tough times (if it's not presumptuous of me); I hope you have a chance in the near future to relax and breathe and see things looking up.
